In most cases, all you need to do is adjust the browser settings. Here's how:
• In Google Chrome: Go to Menu > Settings. Then, disable the extension in the Proxy section.
• In Internet Explorer: Select Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings. Then, uncheck the box for Proxy Server.
• In Firefox: Select Tools > Options > Advanced Network (tab) > Settings. In the Connection Settings window, make sure that the ‘No Proxy’ option is selected. Then, click OK to apply the changes.
If you're running a downloadable VPN, make sure you shut down every process related to that application. On a PC, you can do that from the Task Manager. Just press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to access it. On a Mac, you can do that from the Activity Monitor. You'll find it in the Utilities folder, under Applications.
